"In a world..."

We are living in a time that feels for a lot of us quite surreal. Waiting in anticipation

for the narrator to chime in and continue telling the story that should be on the big screen

and not the lives of us everyday citizens of this big rock in space. The outward face of

many things has really changed, and for the worst. Things have gotten, frankly, very

ugly. Love, open mindedness, and caring attitudes have been stomped on by hateful

rhetoric under the guise of the economy.

Things, as I see it, are falling apart at the seams. it is coming to a place where we, as

a society, will test the limits. No matter how much we would love to truthfully say, "the

limit does not exist," this is disappointingly not going to be a 'Mean Girls' moment, and

more of a malicious compliance kind of approach as it feels right now.

No matter how ugly things get, and have gotten throughout history, artists have always

been the ones to be there and to capture it. Through symbology, through imagery,

through song and written word. We stand here and take the ugly times, and put them

through our own filter to add a strange brilliance to it.
